Mainland High School Football Coach Busted on Prostitution Charge

Volusia - John Maronto - GraphicThe coach of the Mainland High School Buccaneers has been busted on a prostitution charge Saturday night.

Daytona Beach P-D spokesman Lt. Jimmie Flynt tells us 68 – year old John Maronto was busted on beachside during a prostitution sting late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

The operation was part of an operation that stemmed from complaints from business owners as well as residents of the area.

Maronto is now slouch when it comes to Florida high school football.

He ranks second with the second most wins in the state… with 139 victories..

Maronto has led the buccaneers since the mid – 1990’s.

DeLand Women Dies When Struck by a Car

gfx_accident car pedestrianDeLand woman is dead following after she was struck by a car Saturday night at the intersection of State Route 415 and Beresford Avenue.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 2008 Mitsubishi driven by 22 – year old Sabrina Krossber was southbound on SR 15A occupying the outside lane.

That’s when 54 – year old Allyson Manwarren tried to cross the traffic lane and was struck by Krossber’s car.

The accident remains under investigation.

Charges are pending.

Orange City Woman Arrested in Connection with Pharmacy Robberies

Volusia - Corety Bradley - GraphicA woman wanted for two pharmacy robberies in one week was captured Saturday night at her Orange City home.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Branden Haught says the break in the case came when Corey Bradley walked into yet another pharmacy Saturday to ask when it was scheduled to open the next day.

The employees recognized Bradley from the video and photos of her that had accompanied news coverage of the previous robberies.

They obtained Bradley’s license plate number and provided the information to law enforcement. (more…)
